Process Control System Of Automation In Food Processing

Process control system of automation in food processing with diagrams and example Abstract: Proper or acceptable automation in food processing strongly relies on process control system. The topic describes the use of process control system in the automation of food processing and the problems associate with it. The aim is to explain the automation at the technical level and also to show the importance of related controllers, sensors and actuators. The automation in food processing is non-linear and it does not even change with time. Studies show that it is unstable as well. These properties have to be handled well by the automation system. The required sensors and relays are missing in the process so open loop control system is used here.†¦show more content†¦In manual system, a person will continuously keep an eye on the system parameters and when the parameter changes its value from ideal value, the control action will start to get that value back to the desired one. In automatic control system, the procedure parameters measured by different sensors and instrumen tation might be controlled by utilizing loops. A regular control loop comprises of three essential segments Sensor: It will sense the parameters and generate a signal for controller if there is any change in its value. Controller: It will compare both the values and generate a signal to know the difference between two values. Final control component: the last control component gets the control flag created by the controller and changes or adjusts the process by bringing the deliberate procedure property to come back to the set point, e.g. fluid stream can be controlled by changing the valve setting or the pump speed. CLOSED LOOP SYSTEM FOR FOOD PROCESSING As the system deals with a feedback it is called a closed loop system where sensor senses the variation in the parameter and send it back to controller, where error is detected and actuator does the repairing task. It will set the parameter at the ideal value again.
